Blender MCP Telemetry: What Is Collected and How to Opt Out

Blender MCP collects anonymous usage telemetry by default to help improve the tool. Consent is on by default. You can turn it off at any time.

What Is Collected

Telemetry is divided into two levels based on your consent setting. Anonymous usage counts (always collected):

Tool name
Success or failure status
Execution duration

Full data (only when telemetry consent is enabled):

Prompts you send
Code executed in Blender
Viewport screenshots
Scene data

All telemetry is anonymous. It is not linked to your name or account. Data may be used to improve Blender MCP, for research, and to train AI models.

How to Disable

You have two ways to opt out.

1. In Blender

Open Edit → Preferences → Add-ons
Find Blender MCP under the Interface category
Uncheck the Telemetry Consent checkbox

2. Environment variable

Add DISABLE_TELEMETRY=true to your MCP client config:
